It's an interesting read, about how George Downing and Peter Cole came
up with a mathematical formula to compute "Hawaiian Scale" wave heights
based on the wave heights & period readings from the NW Hawaii
Buoy.
I have found it to be extremely accurate (up to the range that I surf,
anyway).
