hey i was jsut wondering weather or not to put a trac-pad on my next board. have anyone of u guys road a shortboard with out one and if so how did you like it. Mahalo

I don't use one...but then I'm not trying to throw my fins out. I just don't like the way they feel. I think if you're really pushing it though, they are a benefit.

I don't like them myself but I DO use them if I have FCS plugs in my board. Due to the plugs eventually popping out of the glass.

I use traction pads on the tail of every shortboard and find them extremely functional. The board size I ride the most is 5'10 or 6' in surf from knee high to 2xoh (I'm 5'8" 138lbs). I have found that pads with a kick at the rear works best for me.

best 30 $ investment u can make to improve your surfing.

recently in a video i noticed slater uses the tail pad to lock his foot/shin into the board when hes doing those freaky no handed backside foam bowl how the hell did he do that pig dog barrels at chopes.

he keeps his further up on the board too, like 2 inches above the leash plug
