Never. I don't think Jon even knows how to get into town. He's from Santa Barbara direct to the Country 15 years ago. Now owns a house and has a nice family out there.

Do you still glass for Bushman?
It'd be cool if you'd glassed my board...

Do you know Wally? Glasses for a few of the big dogs too..comes into my shop alla time. Super nice guy...(makes me want to buy a really good mask if I work with Resin though. :D )

Yes, I work for Jeff on and off throughout the year. No, I've seen the pictures, and I did not glass your board. Yes, I think I know Wally. Haole guy? Used to work for Laminations? It's not the resin. Wally was like that long ago, as was I.

i just had the exact same experience.

to be fair though, he is a really personable and nice guy considering the sheer number of boards for regular guys and pros that he must shape. he also is always going to japan and everything. when i went in to get my board dimensions to him, he really took the time to talk to me about my surfing, taking measurements from my old board and asking me what I wanted out of my new board.

he also went so far as to go surf with my buddy to see what kind of surfer he was when he ordered a board.

but waiting two and a half months is hard, especially when you make a downpayment and have nothing to show for it for two months. i think he waits for glassing a lot of the time though - i get the feeling he probably shapes the board within a week of it being ordered and then just waits for it to be glassed.

oh well, i'm about to pick up my new board and stoked. :D
Brah, it's just like, just get the best barrels ever dude. Just like, pull in, just get spit right out of it, drop in & just smack the lip, WHUH-PACK!! Drop in, BARAAH!!! Then after that, just riding the barrel & get pitted, SO PITTED, like that.

Mike's way better now, those comments were written over a year ago. my mate got his board in under a week recently, and mike's been consistently sticking to deadlines.

perhaps your friend is a preferred or repeat customer? This is the first board i ordered from him (ordered beginning of may), and I literally waited 2 and a half months :!:

he told me it WAS ready a month ago, but then it ended up at the glasser's till now for some reason. c'est la vie.

i still think he's a really nice guy, and i'm looking forward to trying out the board. i'm sure it's going to be great. :D

yeah, my mates have had a bunch of boards from him so i'm sure that helps. I didnt mean anything against him personally, you're right he's really friendly and willing to spend allot of time talking about what you need. my mate watched him shape his board which was cool. you'll be stoked on the board i'm sure.
