may is genrally a role of the dice so to speak and the further you get into the month the less frequent the waves are to be around. as a rule there is usually something rideable for most of the month albiet small and at least twice in the month of may there'll be an acutual swell. it has been my experience ove the last 12 yrs taht the north pacific machine generally turns off sometime in june and stays that way for most of the summer. as a wave forecaster, the outlook i'm seeing for the rest of the month is looking pretty bleak so if i were you i'd save the cash for other things and borrow a board once here if waves show up. and since you haven't brought your board we can apply murphy's law and waves will likely magically appear as you'll be the sacrficial lamb and the rest of us will benefit.
