surfing kauai

Postby andy » Mon Jan 17, 2005 8:04 am

i am going to be moving to kaui to try and finish school at kaui community college next fall(well at least get an associates)
just trying to get some feedback as to best places to live as far as good surf and light crowds
i dont want to get in any of the locals way and really am not into paddling out into heavy crowds
also i love right points and hanalei bay looks insane but seems very crowded and localized
my buddy was telling me about some insane right point called poi lu o or something
im gonna sell my truck and buy a jeep when i get there so ill be able to drive to many spots but i just want to find a place to live with some really good, consistent surf right there
also i guess it should be withing 45 minutes of the school
ha ha i got my priorities straight
thanks for any feedback
mellow out

Go there and explore, spend some time that's the best way. You need to find out for yourself. No one will give you specific spot info

KCC? now that's some quality education. BTW, you can get to KCC from anywhere on the island in 45 minutes.....if you drive at midnight.

Andy, how come you're going back to school? i thought you just signed a big deal with Billabong?
and have you been away from Kauai so long you can't remember where to surf?
keep it real man, i know blue horizon made you look bad but don't forget your roots.
congratulations on the third world title win.

I'm still alive! Intersections went glassy a couple of days ago. East side was good early last week with the Kona's blowing offshore. Hit Playgrounds head high glassy and empty last week. If it keep blowing SW this weekend I'm gonna head North and hit up Rock Quarry for the swell. YEE FRICKIN HAW!

Hot Tip for Hanalei

Postby CUinHELL » Fri Jan 21, 2005 8:30 am

Ok Kauai guys, if you don't know about this, now you do. There's a webcam that you can point out to the Bowl. It's mounted at the Princville Hotel. You can check out Hanalei before deciding to make the drive. Here's the link. http://hawaiilive.sheraton-hawaii.com/pvh-cam.cfm
