cya konas?

Into the long range, high surf is likely on Sunday from 290-330 degrees dropping to moderate levels by Monday. The next system forming off Tokyo is expected be very strong and broad. However, models show it tracking more northeastward. Thus, since it will likely stay further away than the recent storm, surf heights locally should stay in the extra-large levels around Tuesday into Wednesday centered on about 310 degrees plus or minus 10 degrees. Winds may be light trades early next week.

ohhh yeahhhh!

that was pat c.
here's surfline:

NPAC: Friday gets a slow start with leftover WNW and Kona Wind slop. Inklings of a new WNW (290-320) swell show late afternoon. See below for elaboration. Breaking wave heights Friday will be in the 4-6 ft face range for most north shore spots, while the deepwater standouts see bigger sets. The passing front affects Island weather Friday with 15-20 knot SW winds early -- veering W-NW through the day 10-20 knots. Look for sloppy conditions at beaches under the wind’s assault -- showers accompany the front. A small ridge builds for a day of Trades Saturday – then back to Kona’s Sunday as another low approaches. – Trades return for the long Monday and beyond.

On deck Moderate swell from the WNW (290-320) moving towards the Islands -- showing late Friday -- peaking Saturday the 22nd. Winds in this system were not stellar so the peak period is confined to the middle range (14-15 secs). Nevertheless, North Shore spots should expect double overhead surf -- deepwater spots go triple overhead plus. Keep watch on the LOLA Near shore Model as she pinpoints localized wave heights from this one.

Further out Another low is deepening off Japan now, and forecast to sweep east generating WNW swell that would arrive around Tuesday the 25th.
