Puerto Rico Picts
This beach is called crashboatson the west coast, it can hold waves from 1 foot to DOH. These photos were taken Jan 7th, (no surf)
[/url]
These are various reef breaks on the North coast yesterday Jan 8th but the wind is side shore gusting up to 25 mph at times. The first photo is in the morning before the trade winds picked up.
This last photo is same day but the west coast wrap of the north swell

In the first photo, you see the area between the middle pylon and pier, when its double overhead the wave
starts there and then does a long right wall that races with tube sections all the way to the beach at the
left edge of photo. Plus its always light offshore or no wind, because the cliff behind the beach block
almost all the wind. But only problem is when its good it fucking CROWDED, with about 50- 75
in the water and bodyboards outnumbering surfer 3 to 1.
BTW about a 100 yard further to your right of photo is world famous Gas Chambers.

My surfboards and kite boards.
The long board on top is 9'0 Bic (yes the pen and lighter manufacturers, this is my favorite board--its basically indestructible plastic and it rides great.
I've ridden it in everything, from knee high slop to DOH zipper fast walls and tubing sections, and because it is indestructible
I throw care to the wind when it comes to trying to make that unmakeable section. Plus when I go traveling
around the islands I just remove the fins, slap an ID sticker on the outside with a note that says please
do not place more than 5 suitcases on top and give it to the airline unpacked with no worries.
The second long board is a 9'6 Rusty.
First board to the left is 6'4 (my main short board)
2nd is my first board I ever owned and I still take it out once in a while when the swell is running HH to OH and clean conditions.
Its a Mark Richards (Superman) 5'8" and 3"1/4 thick swallow tail twin fin. I bought that board 1978 or 79 cant remember for sure
but it still rides great. I have had people offer me up to $1000 for it but I tell them thanks but no thanks.
The 2 boards with the foot pads are my kite boards.
The last board is my bigger wave board, 7"6 Al Merick.

I bodyboarded Crashboat! Had to jockey with the locals. We were taking off off of the end of the pier. Good fun.
Love Puerto Rico, except for the crime.

Nice!! Got me all drooling. I really like the 7'2" and the 7'8" cause I cant stand the shape of my 7'6" its just too wide and when I have to push through waves, the damn board has so much flotation I almost cant even duck dive it. Plus it picks up every bit of chop in the world. (I dont even know why I bought it since when I had seen it before at full price I didnt like it. I got it for only $200 at a surf shop's going out of business sale but to me it was wasted money since I never use the damn thing. I havent gotten around to selling it but now that I got myself a little irked I think I'll make an ad right now and post some flyers around town.
