My Pentax OptioWP camera was stolen.
Can anyone recommend a good compact waterproof camera to buy for surfing shots.
Am looking at Panasonic DMC-FT1.
Anyone have one?

That sucks about loosing your waterproof camera. I lost 6 of them until I started using the waterproof cameras with the Surf Camera case.
Panasonic DMC TS1 is a fine camera but it is a little too bulky and heavy. Stick with the Pentax! No matter which Pentax you get the settings are always the same. No re-learning your camera.
Pentax has a really good new model called the Pentax ws80 that's inexpensive or if you want to spend a little extra and have a wider angle (28mm) go with the Pentax w80.
