recently i dug up an old Surfer mag anniversary edition the big one.
He was on the cover out at Yokes. It s only since his passing that I read about all the wonderful things he has done for the ocean.
What a life this guy had and he saved tons of surf spots for us !
when i first moved here I would surf around black point and see this crazy bastard swimming from around the point, alone and into the rocks.
he freaked me out more than once.

When I was in college at UH I did some report (cant remember what is was on), but I got to go to his house in Black Point and he talked to me for hours and hours about all the stuff he has been into regarding saving our surf in hawaii. Amazing guy, amazing house (I saw the famous printing press), and someone to aspire to be like...
Why Wouldn't Ya?
