Curing EPS epoxy board

Postby kaku » Tue Jul 24, 2007 9:49 pm

** Sorry, I posted the same message here in case some people can't access the Backyard Boardbuilder forum **

I've read the posts a while back about heat curing EPS foam & epoxy glassed boards. Bambam808 gave some good info about the temps and times.

I'm wondering if the board will ever reach full strength without the heat cure? What level of strength would it achieve without the heat method? How long would the board need to cure?

This type of board have been available for some time now. I was curious if the major manufacturers on the mainland go to the trouble of heat curing before delivery to the customer?

Thanks for any info anyone can provide.

You're welcome! As far as reaching a full cure without heat I think epoxy will at best be 90% of it's full strength potential after two weeks. You could just leave your board in your car though and let the Hawaiian sun take care of the cure.
