Retro fish good or bad ?

Postby Bretto41 » Sun Oct 22, 2006 12:38 am

Due to a 6'6" length limit on boards on airbus I am thinking of bringing a
6'5" x 22" x 3" Retro Fish over. Its the biggest board I can find that comes in under 6'6" when in a board cover.

I am pretty sure this board will be fine for Waikiki area but will it be suitable on the NS late in March? The board is similar to this one.

it depends on your skills, but I would say no good if you are planning on surfing anything overhead.

Rasta surfed Backdoor successfully on one, but that's Rasta. Biggest problem might be trying to duck-dive that fatty. Not so hard to push down, but they want to come up too fast, and you'd get blown to smithereens.

You can always rent a good board from Surf-n-Sea on the North Shore. (I think.)
