yup, im a san franciscan now, BRRRR the water is cold---my rican ass is freezing just thinking about getting in that water, im shopping around right now for a 4/3 suit, booties, locals have told me you dont need a hood most of the time unless the wind is really blowing. And you dont need a 5/4 cept for the coldest days, if your only going to get one suit get the 4/3.... I wasnt planning getting in the water but once I saw the waves I said fuck it! Give me a suit and a board. But Im low on cash as the prices are insane. A suit costs approximately $350 and boards are out of this world I cant find a longboard for less than $900. So for the time being I am only going to buy the suit and use my Manta Body Board.

Oh by the way guys, I just got married 2 weeks ago, to my girlfriend of 10 years. We have basically been married for the last 8 years but we made it official. Hmark met her when I was in HI, we have had our ups and downs, even broke up for a rocky 8 months but we realized we were meant for each other, so we reconciled and dated each other again, she moved with me too SF and we got married. We're planning our honeymoon right now. We are planning to have it in May June or July. Im pushing for Tavarua lol, but most likely we will go to Bali, since she's never been there and there is lot to do and see for the non surfer. (surfing is not her thing nor sitting on a beach watching me surf lol).

Well enough for now I will be posting more picts probably later today im going down to take surf picts since a huge swell came in yesterday so im curious what the surf will look like under the golden gate bridge.

Christmas Day Swell---west swell building quickly during the time (11am to 2:30pm) I was taking pictures the wave faces went from 5 foot to nearly double overhead, I got to Fort Point under the Golden Gate Bridge at 11 am, light rain falling very light breeze, heavy fog coming in off the ocean. Outgoing tide. The pictures are not posted in order, and the dark ones are because the fog gets very thick and dark at times that even the street lights came on at midday and you cant see more than 150 yards.

As the swell built the waves started to break out further around the point and more under the bridge. By the time I left they were so far out around the point I couldnt see the take off anymore.

Just as I took this picture the guy got completely barreled and got shot out with the spit spray, sweet!!

Posted this picture of a clear day to give an idea how thick the fog was.

Congrats on marriage!!!!

San Fran is the coolest city, and the surf at OB is pretty epic, I loved it when I was there. Got probaly the longest beachbreak barrel I ever got out there. Always wanted to surf fort point too...Pretty cold but with a good warm wettie its ok.

Great pics!!!!

Joe the first 2 pictures in this thread are of Ocean Beach at the north end looking out from Cliff House.
===============
Trust me I am working on getting a wetsuit, hopefully within the next 2 weeks. ============
It has to be surreal surfing under the bidge. Plus even though the conditions were good I was told by locals it isnt even near anywhere epic.
They tell me epic it can be breaking up to 2xOH starting outside the point and bridge then wrapping around the point under the bridge and continuing into the bay another 500 yards parallel to the shore only 50ft out Ending on a sandy beach. During the ride when its epic you can connect all the way there are 3 sections where it tubes (outside a racetrack like tube, then an inside bowl, ending in another racing tube that needs an island style kick out under the lip or you will sand blasted .
