All these picts came from my new SD500 7.1 megapixel Canon Camera. The resolution kinda of sucks here cause the picts started off at 4mb but for ease of downloading I cut them down to 100- 200 kb, anyway enjoy the pictures.
The waves have been almost nonexistent but I woke up this morning and there was a 1- 2 foot swell with no wind so I said what the hell cause I have been itching to try out the cam.
All the picts were taken between: dawn and 8am.
Crowd factor: 20+ (all aggressive)
Camera motivating crowd to be more aggressive for shit waves: High
6:30AM Crowd Increasing

wow! killer shots PRS .... did a couple minutes research on the cam & housing, looks like a choice set up at great price.
what are the dims on the housing? can you give an idea how the weight and size compares to a disposable? you think it could handle being in your shorts pocket while surfing? are there any sharp rpotrusions?
interesting that it floats

Thanks Bud,
I got to be honest I cant say enough about the cam, I love it- easy to work with and takes fantastic picts
The housing with cam inside has a positive bouyancy, but not much (kinda like an iceberg in calm water) if you took a thrashing and lost the cam and it went deep it could take at least minute to surface it probably wouldnt just pop up. So you would probably not find it--remember its made more for scuba so having a cam that floated too much would be a pain in the ass i figure.
As for fitting in the baggy's pocket I think its a no go. No sharp edges the whole casing is rounded, but personally i believe it is a little too big to fit in your pocket. It might look a little gay but it would totally fit inside a small belly pack worn backwards allowing you to paddle and surf. That way you could surf but when you wanted to take a shot the cam would be there for you.
I am posting a picture so you can get a real life idea of how big the housing is: the dimensions are 5"L x 3"H x 3.5" front to back. The front to back would be 2" but since the cam has zoom that extends out it made the front stick out.
Hope the picture gives you a better idea of the actual size.
