i think it's funny that everyone who WORKS AT THE MAKE BELIEVE HOTEL on the show is haole(except fo' the bartender) and there isn't any Japanese visitors either. Plus, half of the show is filmed in WAIANAE

I noticed the same thing for the entire 3 minutes I watched it, it didn't give me the feel of hawaii i saw. It looked more like southern california than hawaii, to me anyway.
