Mokuleia/Army Beach Parks
Been steadily hearing some whispers/noize that a big Mufi campaign contributor, Avalon Dvlpt, has been for some time quietly purchasing a number of adjoining beach parcels in Mokuleia to build a large gated oceanfront community/dvlpt by Dstr. Sorta like a big version of what went down at V-land. End result is no access and no parking or very limited. Anyone know the real scoops? Will try to check my resources.

that would suck, but there is no such thing as a "private" beach in hawaii.
its the law, the beach is open to everyone. there will always be beach access.
parking might be a bitch but i'm sure there will be a greater police presence and that would probably be good for our vehicles.
hopefully i can afford a lot/acre. yeah right.............
Oprah probaly bought all of it already.

it's good that the rich folks think they own everything. they're totally clueless, as they cannot own the beach. it belongs to noone, and everyone.
rich folks (fucks) are among the most ignorant people there is... thinking money is the answer to everything. money is nothing but a VICE. the more you have, the more you need.
better to be able to get along with little money, that way it don't become your life's center...
money (greed) is at the root of all evil... ALL THE TIME...

yeah, it's true, but if you ever tried to get onto some of those beaches of the private gated communities on the kona coast, you know they can make it very difficult for you with all kinds of hoops and stuff to jump thru...like i had one of those private life guards tell me i can't use my own towel on the beach that i had to rent one from them...n that wuz just the start of it...anyways, i got some of the parcels' tmk numbers:
6-8-002: 009, 010, 014, & 016
will keep on diggin...

all of this beach restriction talk reminds me of the incident with the lady getting devoured by a shark at olowalus.
it's been awhile back, so most won't remember. there was a lady who bought property that had a GATE on the right of way to the beach. the previous owners, knowing the rules of hawaii, left the gate OPEN.
against everyones wishes, including her own husbands, she locked the gate.
well, one day she was swimming in her PRIVATE ocean, and lo and behold, the aumakua (shark god) came and took her.
let this be a lesson to all who try to own something that belongs to everyone... if'n youse limit beach access, be prepared to pay the price...

talked to some guyz about seeing if we could attach some conditions to the developer's request for access from their development onto farrington hwy...basically to ensure surfers could get access to the ocean conveniently as well as have some parking...i don't think they weren't too receptive to it...we'll see...hope hmark is right...that's bout all i know how to do...except

Hey Goro,
The guy to talk to is Donovan Dela Cruz, I think. He should be the Councilman for that side. Usually, the City will have a Public Right of Way written in depending on how much beachfront land is used up. The V-Land project was a little too small for them to look at one. But also, it will let him know that the public is aware of this.
I'll help with the digging process. Haven't surfed that side in years, but would still hate to lose it to a developer.
